Transportation & Parking

There are multiple transportation options available on race day May 20, 2012. Check back with this page regularly for ongoing updates. Please be aware that the 101st RACE STARTS at 7:00 a.m. so plan accordingly.

There is no street parking at the START LINE or at the FINISH LINE.

RACE DAY SHUTTLE SERVICES - 2 options

You may purchase shuttle stickers: a) when you register for the race online b) at the Expo on May 18th or 19th; or c) after the race at the post-race Zazzle Final Mile festival. If you choose to purchase a shuttle sticker, we recommend doing so at the time you register because your sticker will then be placed directly onto your race bib. It's one less thing for you to worry about on race day!

1. Zazzle Bay to Breakers shuttle service provided by bauers

The official transportation service for this year’s race will be provided by Bauer’s Intelligent Transportation. Bauer’s eco-friendly, luxury shuttles will provide express transportation to and from the event. There are six (6) convenient locations and several options to choose from. Enjoy air-conditioned luxury buses, conveniently located load zone, and express service to your destination. Reserve your own guaranteed luxury seat during registration or after the race at the Zazzle Final Mile festival.

BAUER'S ONE-WAY SHUTTLE OPTIONS

  • From Zazzle Final Mile to the Start Line: $14 
    This express shuttle departs from end-of-the-race Zazzle Final Mile and will run from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM.
  • From Zazzle Final Mile to the Daly City BART Station:  $10
    This express shuttle departs from end-of-the-race Zazzle Final Mile and will run from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM.
  • From Zazzle Final Mile to the 22nd Street Caltrain Station: $11
    This express shuttle departs from end-of-the-race Zazzle Final Mile and will run from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM.

BAUER'S ROUNDTRIP SHUTTLE OPTIONS:

  • Emeryville Park & Ride (Emeryville Amtrak Stn): $22
    Before the race the shuttle will pick up from the Emeryville Park & Ride lot at 5:30am and take you to the Start Line. After the race the shuttle will depart from end-of-the-race Zazzle Final Mile at 12:00pm and return to the Emeryville Park & Ride lot.
  • Millbrae Park & Ride (Millbrae BART Stn) $22
    Before the race the shuttle will pick up from the Millbrae Park & Ride (BART station at Millbrae Avenue) at 5:30am and take you to the Start Line. After the race the shuttle will depart from end-of-the-race Zazzle Final Mile at 12:00pm and return to the Millbrae Park & Ride lot.
  • Mill Valley Park & Ride (Manzanita Parking Lot, Shoreline Hwy): $22
    Before the race the shuttle will pick up from the Mill Valley Park & Ride lot at 5:30am and take you to the Start Line. After the race the shuttle will depart end-of-the-race Zazzle Final Mile at 12:00pm and return to the Mill Valley Park & Ride lot.

2. SFMTA SPECIAL EVENT SHUTTLE SERVICE

The fare for the Special Event SFMTA shuttle sticker is $12. This fare is valid on all express and local Muni service race day from 4:45 am until 5:00 pm. Please note the sticker is not valid on cable cars. Passengers must purchase the SFMTA Special Events sticker in order to ride Muni express service on race day.

PRE-RACE SFMTA SERVICE starting at 4:45 am:

  • The fare for the Special Event SFMTA Shuttle sticker is $12. This sticker is valid on all Muni service race day from 4:45 AM until 5 PM with the exception of Cable Car service. Muni will provide express service to and from the starting line on event day from various locations in the City. More information on Muni routes and schedules will be posted closer to event day.

MUNI FASTPASSES/CLIPPER CARDS ARE NOT VALID FOR MUNI SPECIAL EVENT SERVICE. YOU MUST HAVE A MUNI SPECIAL EVENT STICKER IN ORDER TO RIDE THIS SERVICE. QUESTIONS: CLICK HERE!.

OTHER TRANSIT OPTIONS

BART- Bay Area Rapid Transit

BART will be open for the Zazzle Bay to Breakers Race at 5 AM on Sunday, May 20th. Trains will depart at 20 minute intervals beginning at 5 AM following the normal BART schedule. You can find the BART schedule here. BART encourages runners to get a "Clipper" card in advance or to purchase 2 one-way BART Blue paper tickets and place them in a "sweat" proof pocket to avoid delays on the day of the race.

CALTRAIN SERVICE

CALTRAIN will be operating an early train service for Zazzle Bay to Breakers. Get more info here.

SAMTRANS SERVICE

SamTrans will have detours for Routes KX and 292 from 5:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. You can find more information here.

GOLDEN GATE FERRY SERVICE

The Golden Gate Ferry will have an early ferry service from the Larkspur station. Get more info here.

Vallejo Ferry will be operating a 5:30 AM service for Zazzle Bay to Breakers participants and spectators. Get more info here.

Special Discounted Parking for Registrants

AMPCO System Parking at the Embarcadero Center (1EC, 2EC, 3EC, and 4EC) will again be offering their special $10 parking rate on Race Day for registered race participants. Show your race bib when you pay for parking to receive the discounted price. The $10 price is for Embarcadero Center parking only. See map below for locations. Please note: The Start Line is a few blocks south of these parking garages.
