Zazzle Bay to Breakers Makes Additional Spaces Available for 100th Race
“There is nothing more rewarding than to be able to provide additional spaces to those who exemplify the true spirit of the race and were unable to register before we concluded registration at 50,000 participants,” said race general manager Angela Fang. “We’re grateful to the city of San Francisco for working with us to accommodate the additional infrastructure and services that we’ve put in place to stage the surplus runners safely.”

This past week the race announced that it landed a title sponsor, Zazzle, the world’s leading platform for quality custom products, and that it had closed registration at 50,000 runners.
“We have added the Ella Hill Hutch Community Center, which is in the heart of San Francisco’s Western Addition, as one of the beneficiaries of these additional spaces to give back to the community, along with our longtime beneficiary, Breathe California,” Fang said. Representatives from both Ella Hill Hutch Community Center and Breathe California will be volunteering along the race course and at Footstock over the course of the day
Located just a few blocks from the heart of the race at Hayes Street Hill, the Ella Hill Hutch Community Center is a vital source of educational, recreational and social services to the African American community in the City’s Western Addition. The Center strives to empower youth, through cultural enrichment, parental involvement, community involvement, conflict resolution, social action and quality programming. Registration for the remaining 5,000 running spots in the Zazzle Bay to Breakers will cost $75 per person with $5 of the fee going to our charities. Breathe California continues to host a runner pledge program which is currently the only way remaining to get a coveted Corral A position in the race.
Breathe California works to reduce the impact of lung disease through prevention, education, advocacy and patient services. The organization strives to reach all of the diverse populations and to help all Californians breathe easier. “The 2011 Zazzle Bay to Breakers is proud to support these two important organizations in our community,” said Fang.
